Artist Statement

Watercolor Painting that boldly and powerfully depicts the king of the jungle— the lion. This was my first watercolor painting I made since the 9th grade so it was nice to return to the perfect chaos that is watercolor. It came to me. The red streak and the glowing eyes of the lion— it was just an idea that came to me as I was adding finishing touches to this realism work. I won’t pretend like there’s an intended meaning behind them because it honestly is elusive to me. Therefore I will let any viewers of this work come up with their own interpretations.
