Artist Statement

This painting is meant to portray an embodiment of power by a black man. Recently, I have become enlightened of the prominence that black people held throughout a history. many black people were great scientists, inventors, theologians, philosophers, mathmeticians, artists and so much more. Unfortunately, the accomplishments by those of the african diaspora have been largely hidden compared to the accomplishments of other rces. Not anymore. This painting depicting a black moor holding a miniature earth is a bold and unapologetic depiction of black power in the fullest extent. It is a power I will continue to study and illustrate throughout my artistic journey.
