Introductory drawing class where I was challenged every other week to translate a still life composition onto paper. This class was very critical in my understanding of perspective, drawing accurate proportions, and stepping back from my work to get the full picture.
First assignment in class was to make a still life drawing of shoes posted on a pedestal. I honestly didn't think this assignment would be overly difficult, but it did provide a unique challenge as I had to take on drawing in two completely separate ways. One where loose line sporadically implies the existence of a two-dimensional object and another where clean, controlled linework does. And neither is inherently better or worse.
